Innovations that Drive the Future
The DUMAT Research and Development Center is the heart of the campus's innovation.
This is where science meets industry, and ideas are transformed into concrete technologies implemented in the energy, semiconductor, defense, electromobility, and artificial intelligence sectors.
The center's goal is to develop and test next-generation solutions that support the zero-emission transformation of the economy and increase the competitiveness of the Polish technology industry in Europe.
Main Areas of Activity
• Energy and DC Grid 800 V – research on DC conversion and protection systems, integration of renewable energy sources, and energy storage.
• SiC/GaN Semiconductors – development of power module technologies, thermal, structural, and application testing.
• AI and Industry 4.0 – designing intelligent control systems and optimization of industrial processes.
• Sustainable Industry and Materials of the Future – recycling of industrial waste, metal recovery, and modern composite materials. • Security and defense – solutions for critical energy, drones, robotics, and strategic infrastructure.
Scientific and industrial partners
The Center collaborates with leading universities and institutes, including:
Silesian University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, Cracow University of Technology, KOMAG Institute, as well as international partners from Taiwan, Turkey, and the EU (including Sentec, ITRI, STUST, AWG Taiwan).
Joint projects include technology transfer, implementation doctorates, pilot programs, and research grants financed by EU funds (Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, IPCEI Chips Act, JTF, FENG).
Infrastructure and Facilities
The R&D Center features laboratories for:
• power module testing (thermal, electrical, dynamic),
• DC conversion and protection systems,
• AI and digital twins (Digital Twin),
• materials analysis and 3D prototyping,
• research on recycling and the circular economy.
The laboratory space is directly integrated with the power module factory, the AI Data Center, and the RDF CHP plant, enabling real-world industrial testing in production conditions.
Mission and Vision
The DUMAT Research and Development Center was established to create a bridge between science and industry.
Its mission is to develop technologies that will enable Poland to become a leader in the green industrial transformation in Central Europe.
Its collaborative space for scientists, engineers, and startups allows them to design, test, and implement the future – from idea to market-ready solution.
